Manchester city coach Pep Guardiola is planning to have a coaching break after next season.

The Spanish magician tactician said he has no plane to leave Manchester city permanent, but close friends and family understood that the previous campaign left him exhausted.

The 48-year-old could have a sabbatical at the end of next season if City manage to win the Champions League — a feat Guardiola hasn’t accomplished since 2011 with Barcelona.

If he did go ahead with the decision, it would leave City needing at least a caretaker manager or to move on with a new full-time boss.

It also raised doubt over his long-term commitment to the Premier League champions.

A source close to the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager said: “Pep invests so much emotional energy into his work that it takes a big toll.

“He never stops, but it comes at a cost and leaves him needing a break. It’s inevitable he will have to take a step back.”

Guardiola is always giving his best to his job and he will be happy to lift the champions League with Manchester city if next summer favor the club in the European competition.
